Reptilinks is a brand trusted for providing alternative food for many animals. Their link products provide a way to enable keepers to give animals a varied diet and their scenting products can increase feeding responses.

Why Scent?

Scenting prey items makes them more appealing. While this is pretty straightforward, the process of weaning certain snakes from diets like amphibians over to something like rodents can be a pretty painstaking and cumbersome process involving scenting solutions, such as the ones Reptilinks sells, animal bedding, or even live animals.

The Reptilinks series of products makes it easy and inconvenient to keep these scenting solutions in your freezer to use as necessary.

New Product - Scenting Powder?

Scenting liquids are often a little cumbersome because they need to be frozen and then de-thawed before use. The freezing and de-thawing process can cause the liquid to begin breaking down (ie: "go bad") relatively quickly depending on how often you use it.

The scenting powder seems like a solution to keep a fresh supply of scent available.

The directions read:

Feeding Directions: Pre-wash prey with dawn dish soap and rinse thoroughly to remove original scent.  Add powder to bottle using enclosed funnel, and fill with water 3/4 full. Baste prey in a tiny cup to cover in frog scent. Alternatively, use zip-lock style bag and shake prey in tiny amount of powder to coat prey.  Keep remaining powder and/or liquid frozen when not in use.

It doesn't seem like it could get much easier and simpler than that!

Let us know if you give a try. In the past, I have had great success with the Reptilinks products from feeding western hognose snakes to even woma pythons and borneo short tailed pythons. The links are easy and convenient.
